All Children are Valued Members of Our Community
Children attain optimal health and thrive in safe environments with family, community and local school support. The goal of our program is to enable young children to be active and successful participants of their community during their early childhood years as well as future years. Interactions promoted within our program include but are not limited to: child to family, child to teacher, child to peer, and child to community.
Young Children Learn Through Active Exploration of Their Environment
Our program recognizes that children’s play is a highly supportive framework for advanced development and learning. Our environment provides opportunities for children to explore materials, engage in activities, and interact with peers and adults to construct their own understanding of the world around them. Outdoor activities are required daily as a part of our curricula to maximize the child’s learning experience.
Young Children are Capable and Competent
There should be high expectations for all young children from all backgrounds, experiences, and cultures as all children are capable of positive developmental learning.
Children are Individuals who Develop at Different Rates
Every child is unique and develops skills and competencies at their own pace. All children within an age group should not be expected to arrive at each benchmark at the same time or to show mastery to the same degree of proficiency. Some children may require adaptation of expectations or experiences to successfully achieve a particular benchmark.
